Skitter.TV has been named a finalist in the Middleware category for the TelcoTV 2009 Vision Awards. This is the second year for the Vision Awards, which recognize the most innovative and “visionary” new products, services, or applications released during the past year, as determined by a panel of industry experts. Here are excerpts from TelcoTV’s press release, announced from Irvine, CA today:
TelcoTV 2009, the premier meeting place for the convergence of the entertainment and communications markets, has determined the finalists for the 2nd Annual TelcoTV Vision Awards.
Finalists in each category have demonstrated outstanding leadership and innovation in seven unique categories: Broadband Access Networks, Customer Premises Equipment, Conditional Access, Encoding, Middleware, Test & Measurement, and Service Provider Innovation. The TelcoTV Vision Awards recognize the most innovative and “visionary” new products, services, or applications announced in the communications industry in the past year.
The finalists were determined by a distinguished panel of industry executives, analysts, and service providers: Bernardin Arnason, Chairman, TelcoTV; Joseph Braue, SVP and Group Director, Light Reading; Derrick Bulawa, CEO, BEK Communications Cooperative; Steve Fravel, Video Services Manager, NTCA; Aditya Kishore, Senior Analyst, Heavy Reading; and Kevin McGuire, VP Business & Technology, NTCA.
