A recent article by Home Media Magazine cites research showing that there are more video game consoles in American households than there are cable set-top boxes.  The score is 58 percent for cable boxes to 60 percent for gaming systems. And a majority of those consoles are connected to the Internet.  Support for Web apps and video-on-demand content are built in.

That’s why Skitter.TV includes gaming consoles as one of many entertainment services access devices to be supported.  From our perspective, “multiscreen deployment” is key to satisfying consumer viewing preferences.  What’s more, no one yet knows who the winners and losers will be in the new world of IP-enabled television in the digital living room.  By supporting multiple devices for enjoying Skitter.TV services, our service provider customers are better protected in the “TV anywhere” battles being waged now and in the future.
