The company's flagship solution, Skitter.TV, is an end-to-end video platform for encoding, managing, streaming and viewing converged Internet TV, video on demand, and live broadcast and satellite TV. Robert D. Saunders | President and Co-founder
Robert (Bob) Saunders is president and co-founder of Skitter, Inc. Skitter.TV is the company’s Internet TV platform, a unified environment for capturing, configuring and delivering merged TV and Web video to TV’s, computers and mobile devices. Saunders has more than 30 years of experience in computing, Internet, telecommunications and multimedia technology. His accomplishments include providing the vision, business development and architectural design for a number of pioneering technologies and successful businesses. Saunders was involved in creating one of the world’s first photo and graphics search technologies; a widely deployed, Unix-based telecommunications platform; and an early TCP/IP platform. He founded one of the nation’s first Internet Service Providers and later one of the first virtual ISP providers serving the telecommunications industry. Over the last decade, he has architected over five different set-top box systems and three generations of video encoding technology.
Mark Ellison | General Counsel
Mark Ellison currently serves the company as acting general counsel on an independent basis. Most recently, Mark was a partner in the Washington law firm, Patton Boggs LLP, where he specializes in telecommunications matters before the FCC and on Capitol Hill. Prior to joining Patton Boggs, Mark was Senior Vice President and General Counsel for the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative (NRTC) in Herndon, VA. At NRTC, Mark led the cooperative’s entrance into the IPTV business, securing some of the nation’s first IPTV / MPEG-4 rights from cable programmers. Mark brings over 30 years of experience in communications law and video licensing to Skitter, having also served as V.P. General Counsel to PrimeStar Satellite, the nation’s first DBS operator; V.P. Government Affairs and General Counsel of the Satellite Broadcasting & Communications Association (where he successfully led efforts to gain passage of the Satellite Home Viewer Act); and Associate General Counsel of Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta. Skitter anticipates having Mark join the company on a full time employment basis in 2013.
Scott Remillard | Vice President Sales
Mr. Remillard brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in a variety of telecommunications and telecom technology organizations. Prior to joining Skitter, Inc., he was responsible for sales in the western U.S. for Zeugma Systems. Mr. Remillard has also served as regional vice president of sales with Occam Networks, where he was instrumental in building and leading a sales team supporting a large customer base in the western U.S. Before that, he held several sales roles with Advanced Fibre Communications (Petaluma, CA), including northwest sales manager. In addition to his sales experience, Mr. Remillard worked in several engineering and management roles for Contel Telephone in California.
Mr. Remillard holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Redlands (California), and a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, CA.
